Frequently asked questions

How many people play?

Two or three. Before you join, you choose a table for two or for three, and the game finds opponents waiting for the same size.

How is it played?

Every deal starts with an auction from 50 points. The winner takes the talon, discards two cards and announces how many points they will score. Leading a king and queen of one suit declares a marriage worth 40, 60, 80 or 100, and that suit becomes trumps. Whoever reaches 1000 first wins. The home page has the rules in brief.

Does it cost anything?

No, playing TISÍC is free.

Do I need to install anything?

No. TISÍC runs in the browser on a computer, a tablet and a phone.

Do I need an account?

Yes — an e-mail address and a password. The account keeps your rating and lets you join tournaments.

What happens when I run out of time?

Every move has a time limit and you can see how much is left. When it runs out, the game moves for you by a fixed rule: in the auction it bids the obligatory 50 if you open, otherwise it passes; with the talon it discards your two weakest cards; it announces exactly what you bid; and in a trick it plays your weakest allowed card, without a marriage.

What if my connection drops?

The game waits for you — 75 seconds by default. Come back in time and you carry on as if nothing happened. If you do not, you lose: the unfinished deal is not scored, you finish last and the others are ranked by their score.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes, with one or two computer players. They play by the same rules and see only what a person in their seat would see. Two computer players do not team up against you. A practice game does not change your rating.

How does the rating work?

After a competitive game every player is compared with every other player at the table: whoever finished higher won that pair, the same place is a draw.

How do tournaments work?

Each tournament is played at tables for two or for three, over a fixed number of rounds. Only the winner of a table gets the point for the round, even at a table of three. See the tournaments page.

Can anyone see my cards?

No. The server deals and checks the rules, and each player receives only their own hand.

How do I delete my account?

Yourself, in the game or on the web — the account deletion page explains both.
